General Forum Rules

  • Be nice to one another and help others to the best of your ability. There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers.
  • CAPITALIZING means screaming and is, in most circumstances, impolite.
  • There is no room her for personal attacks or offensive language. If you want to cross swords, do so via p.m. or email.
  • No gutter language or profanity! Try to make your post as understandable as possible, taking your language skills into consideration.
  • Place the posts in the correct section. Read the description of the sections.
  • The moderators observe the adherence to the rules and may intervene in a discussion. They will erase, edit, or transfer posts as they see fit. If necessary they will send you a message. Should you have a problem with the decision of a moderator then please contact them directly via email or pm.
  • Refrain from lecturing other members on the use of the forum; that’s the job of the moderators.

  • Don’t waste storage capacity, or speed and time of other users. That means
    o No giant signatures, 4 lines are sufficient
    o External pictures may only be inserted if they are of use for illustration purposes.
    o No superfluous posts or spamming. Superfluous posts are posts that are not relevant to the topic, with the exception of the Off Topic section. Other examples are:
    Answers like MS sucks or Linux rules
    Paraphrasing previous posts with no additional information added
    Quoting long posts and just adding “I concur”
    Posting in more than one thread the same information/question

  • Observe the threats that may lead to closure of the forum
    o No xxx rated material
    o No political propaganda
    o No enticement to perform illicit acts
    o No links to pornographic sites or pictures

  • Please use good descriptive titles for new threads.
    o Bad: Need help, Important, Urgent etc.
    o Good: Where do I find the statistic button? How do I transfer crew? Etc.

And remember most of all, that we who post here are guests. We are honored, that many went to considerable trouble to make a place for those who speak another language here, and that they have welcomed us. British, Americans, Canadians, Australians, South Africans, Indians and others who speak English as a second language may be posting here. Let us remember that we are in part ambassadors of our nations or cultures, and bring no shame upon ourselves, nor regret to our hosts for permitting us this space.
Needless perhaps to say, religious propaganda shall be off limits as well.
